Recent and impending retirements, coupled with the mass shortage of new skilled labor, has produced an urgent need to train the next generation of Bay Area builders. As the nonprofit partner of the Building & Construction Trades Councils of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, CTWI is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between organized labor and key community stakeholders. We do this through education, research and technical assistance resulting in a more inclusive, highly trained and safe workforce.
BY BRINGING ORGANIZED LABOR AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER EVERYONE BENEFITS:
JOB SEEKERS
Access life-changing, high paying careers.
CONTRACTORS & DEVELOPERS
Hire safe, highly-skilled workers.
UNIONS
Gain a new generation of high-caliber apprentices and increased retention rates.
PUBLIC AGENCIES
Create more effective workforce programs and policies that expand employment opportunities for local residents.
